BAD NEWS

Details: Before 'This is Spinal Tap' there was Bad News. A spoof Heavy Metal band, Bad News first hit British TV in 1983 with the rockumentary 'Bad News Tour' about the band preparing for a gig. The group consists of Vim Fuego on lead guitar & vocals (played by Adrian Edmonson of 'The Young Ones' and 'Bottom'), Colin Grigson on bass (played by Rik Mayall also from 'The Young Ones' and 'Bottom'), Den Dennis on ryhthm guitar (played by Nigel Planer of 'The Young Ones') and Spider Webb on drums (Peter Richardson). Released in 1987 this album tells the story of the band just trying to record an album. Amidst the cliched metal songs are bits of comical story line. The scene in which the band are trying to play a song called 'Excalibur' and add their own sound effects is hysterical. Also included on this CD are the singles and b-sides the band released during the 80s such as 'Cashing in on Christmas'. Until recently this recording has only been available on LP and was quite hard to find.
